C. Willi Myles, Founder of The Stand Up Foundation, Hosts Annual Golf Classic

G. L. Berg acts and staff joined in for fun and fellowship benefiting a good cause as participants of the 2011 Annual Golf Classic fundraiser for The Stand Up Foundation on June 20, 2011 at The Wilds Golf Club in Prior Lake, Minnesota. 

The Stand Up Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 2005 by comedian C. Willi Myles in an effort to help raise money for the MN Children’s Home Society & Family Service/MN Korean Adoption Agency. C. Willi Myles has performed standup comedy for over fifteen years across the United States and Canada, and over the years he had been asked to bring his non-offensive humor to various charities across the country to raise money.  He decided to start something on his own which has always been close to his heart – giving – and with the help of family and friends, The Stand Up Foundation is able to help those who cannot help themselves and to help those organizations who foster hope, educational development, and life skills to others.

Berg team members Gary Berg, owner; Tim Stevens, Senior Entertainment Consultant from our Menomonie, WI office, comic magician Tim Gabrielson, and interactive musician and comic Glen Everhart, who participated in the tournament with team member Ted Brown, former Minnesota Vikings running back. 

Through its annual golf event, The Stand Up Foundation has donated over $50,000 to Children’s Home Society and Family Service.  Some of the projects the foundation has helped to fund are shown in the photos below, including helping to complete a home for birth mothers in Seoul, Korea that offers counseling and training for mothers during and after birth, helping to provide needed equipment such as an autoclave which is used to sterilize equipment, and helping to cover medical costs for individual children such as Addie, who was born with spina bifida.
