About
Minnesota based harpist Andrea Stern has been a professional musician for over two decades, after she graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music. Andrea has performed as a soloist with orchestras throughout the United States, Europe, South America, and Asia. She was Principal Harpist of the Maracaibo Symphony ( Venezuela) and more recently played for the Minnesota Opera. Andrea provides a full range of musical offerings for individual and business clients, and is an accomplished teacher for students of all ages.
Andrea provides educational programs for children from pre-school through senior high. Her programs combine basics about the harp, audience participation, music appreciation, performance and a generous sprinkling of humor and fun. She has been on the roster of Young Audiences of Minnesota/ Compass for years, presenting assemblies to children throughout the region.
Andrea teaches both concert and Celtic harp to children and adults. She was awarded a prestigious grant from National Endowment for the Arts to teach at the St. Francis Music Center. Currently she teaches at MacPhail Center for Music,and is adjunct faculty at Augsburg College in Minneapolis and St.Thomas University in St Paul. In 2004 and 2006 she performed and gave master classes in Belgrade and Novi Sad (Serbia).

This program features wind instruments and harps and can also be combined with Irish dancers. Learn a simple jig step and how to identify different dance rhythms.
The Magic of Harp
Did you know that the harp is thought to be one of the world’s oldest musical instruments and has 37 different ways to make sounds? An around-the-world tour takes students from Japan to Ireland to Latin America, as they experience the dazzling sounds and technical workings of Andrea’s concert and Celtic harps.
