Legacy Fund Events

G.L. Berg Entertainment has been providing quality, professional, and affordable entertainment throughout Minnesota and the Upper Midwest for over 20 years.   We have had the privilege of working with thousands of events in a variety of settings and have the resources to provide the best performers for your events.

In an effort to assist libraries with the planning of events and programs through the Legacy Fund, we have compiled information on some recommended performance options that are available for these events, as well as a quick FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions) section to help during the planning process.

George Maurer Trio

George Maurer Trio

Led by acclaimed pianist/composer George Maurer, the George Maurer Trio performs traditional jazz to swing, blues to bebop, and a healthy dose of originals. They are “one of the preeminent small jazz groups on the scene. Recommended.” (David Nathan, All About Jazz). Come tap your toes to the “irreverent style and sly musical humor” (the Dakota Jazz Club, Minneapolis).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

1. What is involved in the contracting/booking process?

With having worked with thousands of events, we realize that many event organizers have other roles and responsibilities.   So, we make sure to keep the planning process as simple as possible, while ensuring that your event is as successful as possible.    First, we like to have a conversation with you about your event, its goals, the possible audience you are hoping to reach, and discuss options that meet your needs and work with your budget.   Then, as you review the information and are ready to confirm a particular act, we verify their availability and talk with you step-by-step through your event and get the details.  Those details then get entered into our standard contract that is extremely simple.   Essentially it is a great document that outlines the expectations for everyone.   Our contracts are signed by the performers themselves, so you can rest assured that they are aware of the details for your event and that they will be the ones that will arrive and perform on the day of your event!

2. I do not have a lot of resources to promote the event, are you able to help?

Yes.   We are able to provide you biography information and other text on the performers, photos, and other information you might need for press releases, posters, etc.    In many cases, our performers will post their public shows on their websites and in their newsletter announcements so any of their fans and visitors will be aware of the shows.   We certainly like to work with you as much as we are able to make your event a success!

3.  I do not have a large programming/activities space for a performance – what do you recommend?

Our performers are full-time professional entertainers.  They are able to perform in many different settings and facilities.   While many performers have a recommended stage size, that is merely a recommendation in order to make the event as successful as possible.    We are able to work with you and discuss your programming space to make sure there are no surprises.   In many cases all the performers need is an electrical outlet near the performing area.

4.  I do not have a large staff – what work is all involved on the day of the event?

Again, our performers are professionals.  All of the options listed above provide their own sound and lighting equipment and require no assistance in setting up for the performance.   We provide a turnkey process – so you can focus on other aspects of the event.  All that the performers will need is an electrical outlet close to the performance space.

5. Will these performers be appropriate for my audience?

Certainly.   All of our performers are completely non-offensive and will be appropriate for any audience.   At no time will our performers use foul language, innuendo, or offensive material on-or-off stage.   These are just regular people with great manners!

6.  I have additional questions and would like to talk with someone about our Legacy Event?
