A cappella. Technically it’s what they do. But they’re not your bow-tie barbershop quartet. They’re a vocal band; which means they do more than sing – they recreate the entire band experience – engaging audiences in a rich blend of harmonies while entertaining them in good clean fun.
Five guys from Minnesota with five microphones and no instruments, Home Free books shows all over the world performing at everything from elite black-tie events to casual high school assemblies. They have sung for Fortune 500 companies, professional sports teams, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Norwegian Cruise Lines, Allied Concert touring services, countless state and county fairs across the country, and many, many more. They have also brought their love of a cappella music into public schools, raising music awareness and thousands of dollars for local high school music programs. With a musical style they call “an eclectic mix of everything” they have taken a cappella in a direction that caters to every generation.
“It surely must sound a bit repetitious to say what a truly fun time the entire audience and I experienced last night at the concert of the “Home Free” a cappella singers…but that’s exactly what it was! The “Home Free” concert we enjoyed Friday evening indeed lived up to their reputation of unusual vocal talent and cordial audience rapport including the unique talent of Adam who also provided “vocal percussion accompaniment” which sounded just like a full set of drums – including the cymbals!”
–Home Free Concert Review from Delta Center for Arts and Education
“Right from their opening number, “Life is a highway,” the group of five young men left no doubt that this was destined to be an evening of exquisite harmony and high energy mixed in with lots of humor…A standing ovation mid-concert is certainly a rarity in Border Concert circles, but in this case it was well-deserved. Rupp’s imitation of a complete set of drums and a deejay’s turntable was astounding. Not only did he pull it off in spectacular fashion, but he managed somehow to sing along with himself. Many in the audience were let shaking their heads in disbelief that what they were hearing came from the mouth of a single performer on stage.”
–Journal Staff, Border Concert Series
“The group dazzled and delighted the audience with a wide variety of tunes that spanned the generations and offered something for everyone…This is a group that entertains while they sing, combining “harmony with good clean fun.” Given their vocal versatility, harmonies, and amazing live performances, it would not be surprising at all if this group hits the big time.”
