The following is a sample introduction you can use when introducing Paul Imholte to your audience:
Paul Imholte (pronounced im holt)
“If it has strings, Paul Imholte probably plays it. Paul started off learning to play his great, great, grandfather’s fiddle. Along the way he’s picked up the guitar, hammered dulcimer, mandolin, banjo, jaw harp, autoharp, and the list goes on and on, so that he’s been dubbed the ‘musical stringman’. He has released five CDs of music and has performed at concerts and festivals from New York to California. Please welcome the musical stringman, Paul Imholte!”
In order to give you the best performance possible, Paul Imholte provides the following information as a technical rider to his contract:
- Stage: Paul prefers a raised stage with at least 8’x8’ level area.
- Sound: Paul will provide his own sound unless the event is an outdoor stage show or large, concert venue. (For outdoor stage shows and concerts, Paul needs four mikes, four boom stands, one direct box, and two monitors.)
- Lighting: Existing stage lighting in facility, house lighting where adequate or in special arrangements, Paul will bring in his own lighting system.
Paul Imholte is the Musical Stringman, and has more than earned that title because he brings nearly a dozen string instruments to every performance. From the hammered dulcimer to the auto harp, guitar, violin, harmonica, jaw harp, and more, Paul Imholte can provide background music or stage show performances that are sure to delight all musical lovers. Paul’s repertoire blends country hoedowns, enchanting Celtic melodies, and classical transcriptions for folk instruments, humorous songs, and treasured ballads.
Paul Imholte’s artistry is based on a love for the beauty of acoustical music and his enthusiasm for sharing that passion with the audience. His strolling music is great for setting a relaxing atmosphere for receptions or dinners. At outdoor events, Paul uses a cart filled with his instruments so he can smoothly move across the grounds and offer spontaneous mini-concerts. His stage show features upbeat, family entertainment of folk songs, lively instrumentals, and audience participation. You will be enchanted by the sounds of the sounds of these strings!
