About
Peter Bloedel has been entertaining professionally for over twenty years. He is a charismatic entertainer with a flair for working audience members into his show.
Since he was a kid, Peter has loved magic tricks. At age 13 he started juggling grapefruits from his mother’s refrigerator. His mother made him eat every grapefruit that hit the ground. Pete got a lot of vitamin C in those formative years, but it also got him not to drop so much. Juggling became a teen-aged addiction for the young lad and right after high school he landed a job as “Pete the Juggler” at Valleyfair, an amusement park in Shakopee, Minnesota. This was excellent performance experience and fueled Pete’s desire to pursue a theatre major in college. While at college, Pete learned to play the guitar and the mandolin and helped form the eclectic folk band “The Divers” which is still going strong and has a loyal following in the Midwest. The band has recorded three albums and produced a children’s book.
When Peter isn’t out performing for the masses, he can still be found teaching Theatre Arts at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato Minnesota, where he is a theatre director and playwright. He is the originator of Bethany’s annual vaudeville revue “Theatre Physics,” a perennial hit in Mankato, with a following that grows larger every year.
Pete is the author of a number of plays, which together have had over 700 performances worldwide. His three most popular titles are: “The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet;” “The Rules of Comedy;” and “A Play with Words.”
Peter lives happily in Mankato, Minnesota with his wife, their four children and a turtle that he is trying to teach tricks to. It’s a slow-going process.
