Led by Grammy and Latin Grammy-nominated Cuban pianist/vocalist Viviana Pintado and international Cuban conga player Frank Rivery, SALSABROSA leaves a “Havana Hot” buzz wherever it plays. In just five years SALSABROSA has become one of the premier Salsa acts in the Midwest. SALSABROSA’s explosive Afro-Cuban rhythms, mesmerizing vocal harmonies, and riveting horn solos make even the shyest audiences want to get up and dance.

SALSABROSA brings it’s “Cuban Carnaval” to weddings, college festivals, corporate events, and nightclubs throughout the Midwest. The band has an extensive repertoire of Latin styles including Cha Cha Cha, Bolero, Merengue, Salsa and Salsa-Hip Hop. Upon request, SALSABROSA performs with the internationally acclaimed SDS Dancers whose dance instructors engage everyone in the festivities. SALSABROSA’s performances are always a powerful celebration of the marvelously diverse community that our country has become.

About

Viviana Pintado (vocals, piano):

  • International performer
  • Recorded with Albita Rodriguez, including Grammy-nominated Una Mujer Como Yo
  • Performed on subsequent international tours throughout North America, South America, Central America and Europe
  • Featured in 1995 film Dance With Me starring Vanessa Williams
  • Since moving to Minnesota in 2003, has been playing with literally dozens of local Latin groups, including Salsabrosa, Zafra (w/Rey Rivera), Salsa del Soul, Charanga Tropical, and Orquesta Zafiro

Frank Rivery (vocals, congas):

  • “I was born to play music”, says this Havana-born international performer
  • Rivery is famous for his charismatic stage presence and conga solos
  • Has demonstrated genius in his work as instructor and arranger
  • Frank performed two years with top “Son” group in the Dominican Republic
  • Performs locally with numerous groups, including Salsabrosa, Johan Serra and Salsa del Soul

David Eiland (horn):

  • Originally from St. Louis, this musician/composer/recording artist/producer has enjoyed a successful 35-year career in the music business
  • Has performed with national artists such as Janet Jackson, David Bowe, Human League, Jonny Lang, Thelma Houston, Alexander Oneil, and Cherrel, to make a few
  • Active member and performer at Club 3 Degrees
  • Performs locally with numerous groups, including Salsabrosa, The Combo, TC Jammers, Doug Menard, Ipso Facto, and Belladiva
