Sami Dare
Female stage hypnotist
Sami Dare’s stage hypnosis show is the ultimate reality show – the audience provides the entertainment!
Sami’s stage hypnosis programs explore the entertaining possibilities of the phenomenon we call hypnosis. The show is hilarious fun for everyone! Members of your group become stars of a wonderfully creative and hilarious romp through the imagination. They become fishermen, racecar drivers and movie stars. They eat ice cream cones, speak foreign languages, and may even forget their own names! Because all hypnosis is truly “self hypnosis,” the participants make it happen – not the hypnotist! People always have fun. Nobody is embarrassed. It’s safe, funny, and guaranteed to please.
Sami’s show is also a great addition to a fundraiser event, with proven success and audiences growing year after year.
About
Sami Dare was born in Minneapolis, MN, grew up in Virginia, MN, and spent much of her childhood on stage singing with her six siblings and her parents who are both Lutheran ministers. As a teenager, her family moved back to Minneapolis, and she’s lived there since that time.
Sami graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St Peter, MN with a degree in Elementary Education. When she became interested in hypnosis in 1991, she apprenticed on stage for two years with an established stage hypnotist, and studied hypnotherapy to become a certified hypnotherapist.
She has produced a self-hypnosis CD for people who want to quit smoking, stop overeating, or simply learn how to manage daily stress. Sami has been performing on stage since 1993, in almost every state in the US, including Hawaii.

–WHS Prom Committee
“Just a note to let you know how much we enjoyed having Sami here! The group laughed and laughed! I totally felt like ‘Debbie Downer’ when I had to follow her with awards…yes, awards! Those are usually fun for us! LOL Anyway, I just wanted to personally thank you for such a great suggestion, the great price, and for a great Staff Appreciation event. Please pass my gratitude along to her.”

“I want to let you know that Sami’s performance last night was hilarious! I was in tears most of night…along with everyone at my table…and a lot of my co-workers were doubled over. People were talking about it for the remainder of the evening and it was the buzz at breakfast and even carried to lunch. I am looking forward to seeing the photos and the comments on the employee survey. It was really funny as she almost lost her composure herself a couple times and she said she can’t remember the last time that happened. She commented that as far as corporate shows, it was an A+. All in all, the evening could not have gone any better!”
–Atomic Learning

“You were a HUGE HIT! Even two months later, the committee members and planners make references during our meetings to the hilarious and utterly incredible happenings that occurred during your show. I was also very pleased that you could tailor your presentation to a family audience, and that nothing that happened to any of the hypnotized participants was humiliating in any way. Thank you for a terrifically fun and unforgettable evening!”
–University of Minnesota, Juvenile Officers Institute

Rider
In order to give you the best performance possible, Sami Dare provides the following information as technical riders to her contract.
Please Note – there are two riders – one for corporate type events, and one for post-prom/post-grad type events.
Corporate Events Rider:
This program is easily adaptable to virtually any conditions. For best results we suggest these guidelines. Each situation is unique, so in most cases Artist will arrive early enough to help arrange performing area.
- STAGE Clear visibility. Try to avoid having audience and show on same level. If risers are needed: 16’ long and 8’ deep is minimum size requirement. Ideal size is 20’ long and 16’ deep.
- SOUND One wireless handheld microphone, please. Volume level maximum. Performer must be heard over very loud audience reaction. If there is a sound engineer controlling the sound for your event, Sami will need two XLR inputs; one is for the wireless (preferred) handheld that is to be provided, the other for an mp3 player. Both will be patched into the main or house system. (Sami can provide, on request, microphone and a small sound system sufficient to cover most venues).
- LIGHT As much light as possible on entire performance area. Audience may be dimmed.
- PROPS Approximately 10-20 chairs with backs (depending on size and make-up of audience), in one row facing audience. One small table, center stage behind row of chairs.
- VIDEOTAPING Home use only, any/all footage to artist on request. Commercial sale of show without permission is illegal. Do not show videotapes of show to subjects on the same night. Performer assumes no responsibility for misuse of hypnosis videotapes. Fees may be assigned for breach of above.
- IF ROOM IS PROVIDED – Reserve a single non-smoking room (under the name Sami Dare) as close to the show site as possible.
- EMERGENCY – Please provide a home phone number or emergency number that can be called if needed (snowstorm, illness, accident, etc.) during non-business hours.
Post-Prom/Post-Grad/Lock-in Rider:

(Audience should be in place and seated by show time.) - VIDEOTAPING Home use only, any/all footage to artist on request. Commercial sale of show without permission is illegal. Do not show videotapes of show to subjects on the same night. Performer assumes no responsibility for misuse of hypnosis videotapes. Fees may be assigned for breach of above.
