Douglas Wood & The Wild Spirit Band
Amazing music, stories, and humor
If you want your audience to experience a show filled with amazing music, stories, and humor, hire Douglas Wood and The Wild Spirit Band.
The Wild Spirit Band draws you in with a variety of musical styles. Incorporating American standards, bluegrass, jazz, folk songs, commercial hits, and original compositions into their show, these extraordinarily talented musicians build rapport with the audience and bring fast-paced, high-energy music that draws you in and makes you want to move. You will feel like you’re part of something special when this group performs – Douglas Wood and the Wild Spirit Band can make a crowd of one thousand feel like they are gathered around the campfire with family and friends.
Doug, his son Bryan, and his friend Steve are masters of their music. Doug was trained in classical piano and violin and later taught himself guitar and banjo. He is a picker’s picker and every concert is alive with different styles, moods, and hot licks. Each song is enhanced by the instruments he plays: a classic 1969 Guild extra-large body 12-string guitar, a Taylor 6-string, a well-seasoned banjo, dobro, and a sweet-singing mandolin. Steve Borgstrom is side-man guitarist extraordinare and is one of the best flatpickers in the state. They recently received First Runner-Up in the recent Minnesota Bluegrass “Race for a Place” state band contest at the annual Harvest Jam Festival, and each play multiple instruments.
Have some fun, light a spark with your audience, and give them something to take with them…bring Douglas Wood and The Wild Spirit Band to your next event!
