Gordy Pratt

The Original Fabulous One Guy

Expect hysterically funny comedy and mesmerizing Spanish guitar playing in Gordy’s stand-up musical comedy show. From Rogaine to Road Kill, from the pitfalls of parenting to the process of aging gracefully (or not), from the birth of a baby to the demise of the 8-track tape, Gordy’s family friendly baby boomer humor is guaranteed to make you laugh, make you cry … make you laugh so hard you cry.

A veteran entertainer, extraordinary guitarist, comedy writer and published songwriter, Gordy has performed his stand-up musical comedy show as The original Fabulous ONE GUY for hundreds of corporations, associations and other organizations, large and small. Gordy also does a full-length concert, performed throughout the United States, and a historical show: “Seth Bullock: The Spirit of the West.” He has appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America, where he sang “Days of ‘76”, an original song from his “Seth Bullock” show, and opened for Kenny Chesney, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Beach Boys and many more.

Called the “Victor Borge of the Guitar,” Gordy’s unique performance style brings laughter to music and music to laughter. Gordy mesmerizes audiences as he plays Bach and Bluegrass in the same breath, Mozart on “12 cups of good, strong cowboy coffee,” and a foot-stomping turn of “Classical Gas.”

In Gordy’s character-driven comedy, you’ll meet Orville T. Saddlesore, “a chewed up old cowboy” who offers up Words of Western Wisdom; Joe California, a cool dude struggling to survive his first winter; Joe Prosciutto, a New Yorker suffering culture shock; and, of course, Gordy, a character in his own right.

A theatre and music professional for more than 30 years, Gordy grew up in summer stock theater and studied classical guitar and ancient music at Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY; Royal College of Music, London; and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. The founder of Deadwood Production Company and One Guy LLC, Gordy wrote 12 history alive shows, including “SETH BULLOCK: The Spirit of the West,” which includes first-hand stories and the original songs on this CD. “The Days of ‘76” was performed on ABC’s Good Morning America.  He continues to perform “SETH” for a variety of organizations.

Gordy also has produced several CDs including his most recent, “rusty old american dream,” a collection of his songs and songs by some of his favorite artists; and his classical solo guitar album “String Theory.” Gordy’s albums are available for sale on CD Baby,  iTunes, Amazon.com and on Gordy’s website. Gordy can be found on Facebook and YouTube and followed on twitter.
