Entertainment Consultant, Theater/Concert Markets

G.L. Berg Entertainment, the Midwest’s largest entertainment provider, contracting over 4,000 performances annually
across the United States and the world, is expanding its concert and theater programming division. We are looking to
add one or two talented, professional, experienced individuals to our sales and consulting staff. These positions may be
full or part‐time depending on the candidates selected.

Job Responsibilities Would Include:
‐ Assisting G.L. Berg Entertainment staff in securing top‐notch, viable, professional performers to add to our
current strong and growing roster or performing artists.
‐ Research, contact and propose our acts and services to current and up‐start performing arts groups to meet
their programming needs. Clients and potential clients do include: arts associations; theater directors;
presenter networks, independent theater producers, etc.)
‐ Work with CEO and current staff members to create an annual comprehensive marketing and sales plan for the
2020‐21 season and beyond.
‐ Spend a minimum of one or two days a week in our main office downtown Minneapolis, MN, to better
understand our culture and operational methods. Plus attend staff meetings, company retreats and
miscellaneous company events, showcases and conferences.

‐ Demonstrated experience working in the theater/concert area.
Knowledge and understanding or a wide range of theater programs from classical music, jazz, orchestral music,
vocal music, dance, circus arts, and popular music.
‐ Preference will be given to candidates who have a strong history of working with presenters and presenter
networks and associations and whom also have:
     o An understanding of community outreach programs in the arts.
     o An understanding and ability to assist performers and presenters with arts grants and grant writing.
‐ Need to be a positive and fun person who is a great team member to fit our company and staff.

‐ Compensation will be based on the experience of each candidate and the expected hours of work.
Compensation will initially be based on a salary, plus potential bonuses. Benefits do not include health
insurance or a company car. They do include a matching retirement plan and a great working environment
along with a great deal of independence and respect.

‐ July 1, 2019 will mark the 30th anniversary of being in business
‐ Annually G.L. Berg Entertainment contracts approximately 4,000 performances for clients throughout the entire
United States and the world.
‐ We currently contract about 50% of our performances in the private/corporate/association market. We
contract another 35% in the fair/festival and cruise ship markets. The remaining 15% is contracted in theaters,
on college campuses, at K‐12 events, weddings and miscellaneous events.
‐ Current staff consists of 5 full‐time employees, one part‐time employee, sales sub‐contractors and a host of
special consultants and vendors.
‐ We currently exclusively represent 42 full‐time professional performers and annually contract work for over 60
non‐exclusive acts as well to meet our clients’ needs.
