Scott Novotny Stand-Up Comedian Scott Novotny recently celebrated his 30th anniversary of being a full-time professional stand-up comedian. Over that time, Scott has had people laughing from coast to coast with his clean, non-offensive, very funny observations and humor. Armed with only great comedy material, a wonderful sense of timing, and some physical comedy that is sure to make you laugh, Scott gets the job done. “Audience members are always coming up to me after my show and telling me ‘We haven’t laughed that hard in years! My cheeks hurt. I had tears in my eyes. It’s really refreshing to hear good CLEAN comedy!’, and my favorite, ‘I wish I had been wearing Depends!’ That really cracked me up. He taught Junior High English, was Theatre Director at Dassel-Cokato High School for two years, and has headlined for over 300 comedy clubs including The Comedy Store in LA, Funny Bones, and Sarasota Comedy Club. Scott has written for HBO, Dudley Rigg’s Brave New Workshop, TV commercials, two children’s plays, Strange Brew daily comic strip, and Saturday Night Live. He has appeared on MTV’s Half Hour Comedy Hour, TV commercials including Best Buy, Lava Soap, Coors Beer, and Land O’ Lakes, and America’s Funniest People. Scott owned and operated The Comedy Cabaret, Minnesota’s first stand-up/variety comedy club and released a comedy CD entitled Monu-Mental in 2005. Scott teaches classes in stand-up comedy and improvisation and is currently working on a motivational speech as well as working on teaching a class in Comedy Therapy. He loves teaching new students the art of comedy and improvisation, and lives by the Greek definition of comedy, which is “life with hope”. Ceiling height is NOT an issue. If the performers can stand up, they can do the show. Access between stage and audience is essential for audience participation. If meals are being served at the event, please arrange that no meals are served or clean up being done during the performance.
