  • Laura Ernst | G.L. Berg Entertainment

Laura Ernst Juggler, Acrobat & Aerialist If you’re looking for something new and exciting, you’ve found it. Laura is a juggler, acrobat and aerialist. With something for everyone, Laura has a variety of stunts that range from death defying to ridiculously funny. Her show gets rolling inside a human-sized hamster ball. Add that to the international award-winning juggling, astounding acrobatic stunts and high flying aerial fabric over 25 feet in the air and you’ve got a show beyond compare that will be remembered long after the event. You’ll get the same skills that not only won her a spot on America’s Got Talent, but also make her an international award winning juggler. In 2012 Laura became the only woman in the world to juggle flaming chainsaws, bringing new meaning to the words “hot ticket.” This is not your everyday one-size fits all show, this is an all-in-one show. Imagine a performer that literally bends over backwards to make your life easier. When you work with Laura you don’t have to worry about a thing. She’s got the sound equipment, lights, and the 25 foot portable aerial rig on hand. Laura becomes part of your team, dedicated to making your event shine. >> Career Highlights When Laura was little, her dad told her that if she picked a career that she truly loved then she would never have to work a day of her life. This probably wasn’t what he had in mind. It started innocently enough- learning to juggle for a middle school play in her small Iowa hometown. Her first performances were at street festivals in that hometown, wowing audiences with fire manipulation. Several years later, Laura has made a career out of her passion for entertaining. After joyfully juggling her way through college, Laura graduated and began her first job…behind a desk. This is where the journey really begins. After a couple of months, Laura realized that a “normal” job would never be fulfilling for her; she packed everything into her car and moved to the East Coast. After many trials and tribulations, she began to achieve the success she had worked so hard for. In 2008 Laura won 1st place at the World Juggling Federation, placing her among the best jugglers in the world. Then, on the 5th season of America’s Got Talent, Laura performed inside of her human-sized hamster ball- a prop so impressive it caused Howie Mandel to exclaim, “I love you! You are my soul mate.” Never settling for average, Laura has invented innovative props and brought new life to old favorites. In a career that is dominated by men, she has risen to the top. She has performed all over the world, and currently resides in Des Moines, Iowa with her wonderful husband Ryan. >> Testimonials “Laura was absolutely wonderful!! One of our biggest audiences to date." –Bemidji State University >> Basic Set-Up Needs In order to give you the best performance possible, Mind Games provides the following information as technical rider to its contract. An auditorium stage or an extremely STABLE riser (riser being as large as possible) to accommodate 20 chairs in a semicircle. RISER MUST BE FLUSH AGAINST A WALL FOR THE SAFETY OF THE PARTICIPANTS. Purchaser shall also arrange audience seating so that the front row chairs begin approximately six feet from the stage unless show is performed in an auditorium or gymnasium. An EXCELLENT sound system that provides outstanding sound on the STAGE AREA. THIS IS CRITICAL. Audience response drowns out most verbal communication between the hypnotist and the subjects. Please do not assume that the sound system is strong enough to overpower hundreds of people laughing. Volunteers must hear the hypnotist CLEARLY. Thus, SPEAKER MONITORS ON STAGE WHICH FACE THE VOLUNTEERS ARE A MUST. If your auditorium is not fitted for monitor hook-ups, please be inventive. Almost always, a portable system with large speakers placed BEHIND the volunteers (facing the audience) can out power in-house systems. They also double as EXCELLENT monitors. TWO microphones are to be provided (a handheld cordless with a spare battery is great if available) making sure the cords are long enough, able to reach all chairs on stage easily. The second microphone will be used as a back up. However, the XLR or cable to the amplifier will be used as a second input for background music and special effects. Good stage lighting is important. Most auditoriums have acceptable lighting but please ensure the lights are properly aimed (and not burned out) to flood approximately the first 20 feet of the stage area. If the show is located where built-in lighting is not available, any additional lighting to augment the stage area is STRONGLY suggested. This will increase response of volunteers and provide for a much better show. A darkened banquet hall for example with lights on tripods (easily rented) will create a much better "nightclub" atmosphere and make for a better show. >> Sample Introduction The following is a sample introduction you might use when introducing Mind Games to your audience: “The host of tonight’s show – Jared Sherlock – is an award-winning entertainer and certified hypnotherapist who has been featured in The Wallstreet Journal Online, the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom radio show, and Campus Activities Magazine’s “Top Acts” for 2013! He is currently performing at over 100 events a year nationwide and abroad and was most recently named the Minneapolis INDIE Performing Artist of the Year. Tonight he will blend his perfected art of modern stage hypnosis with comedy and friendly audience interaction. Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m proud to introduce your show today — MIND GAMES.” >> Pricing Information Pricing for each act varies depending on a number of factors including: location of the event; popularity of the date; routing for each act; type of event; single or multiple day performances; length of show, etc. To get a specific and accurate quote for your event please contact our office by completing the form below or calling (888) 654-6901. Exact number should be based on your audience/stage size. Lighting: The lighting system needs to be adequate enough to cover the working area of the stage. Performance area should be brighter than the house (audience) area. If needed, a lighting system can be provided. Audio: (For most contracts the artist will provide sound.) If client is providing the PA system, a professional sound system is required suitable to cover the entire function area INCLUDING the stage. It is important that there is sound coverage (floor monitors or speakers) available so that the audience volunteers are able to hear vocal suggestions over the entire stage area. This system should include: - 1 Wireless handheld microphone - 1 Straight microphone stand - 2 XLR cable inputs Accommodations: If a room is provided, please reserve one non-smoking room (under the name Terry DaVolt) as close to the event site as possible.
