Tommy Ryman grew up with a new-age, folksinging mother and a traditional, Lutheran insurance-agent father. This XY equation evidently equals: acclaimed comedian. Ryman has earned the title of Semifinalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, where judges raved about Tommy saying, “they had never seen anything like him, one of a kind, fantastic!”
Ryman’s act can be described as absurdist and clever, masked behind a very likable and innocent demeanor, often thought of as disturbingly adorable. He is a favorite among audiences at top clubs, colleges, and corporate events around the nation, and he is regularly featured on SiriusXM, and iheartradio.
Ryman recently won the title of Best in the Midwest at the prestigious Gilda’s Laugh Fest, and voted best comedian in the Twin Cites by City Pages. He was invited to perform at the Great American Comedy Festival at the Johnny Carson Theater. Ryman’s newest album “Having the Time of My Life” debut at #2 on the iTunes comedy charts, and he also has a brand new comedy special on Dry Bar Comedy.

Tommy Ryman grew up in the heart of Minneapolis raised by a folksinging mother and a traditional Lutheran insurance-agent father. He has an older sister who is a Harvard grad. Having this strange upbringing gave Tommy the right atmosphere to look at life a little differently. Growing up, he was an actor and had great comedic timing.
Tommy Ryman began his stand up career in 2005 at one of the best clubs in the country, Acme Comedy Company, right after college. He quickly became a local favorite and was sought after by some of the nation’s top comedians and opening for the likes of Louie Anderson, Maria Bamford and Nick Swardson, just to name a few.
Later in his career, Tommy was invited to perform in some of the top festivals including The Great American Comedy Festival in Johnny Carson’s home town and Gilda’s Laugh Fest, where he won the title of Best of the Midwest. He broke into the national scene when he became a Semi-Finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing season 8. A favorite of Roseanne Barr, a judge and pro-fessed fan, raves she has “never seen anything like [Tommy] before in [her] whole life, [he is] one-of-a-kind, fantastic!”
Tommy is now married to his wonderful wife (even though he spelled marry wrong during the proposal) and has two dogs (who are Instagram stars and can be seen sporting various dinosaur and bee costumes). He tours the country, as well as internationally, performing at top clubs and colleges. He is also a favorite at company parties and private events making people laugh in all different types of places. He has a unique gift for relating a diverse group of individuals.
