  • Tonic Sol-fa | G.L. Berg Entertainment

Tonic Sol-fa A Cappella Tonic Sol-fa is a ground-breaking a cappella ensemble from Minnesota in constant development since their formation two decades ago. TSF stands as one of the leading forces in the world of vocal music with Emmy Award winning arrangements and multi-million selling compositions. >> Career Highlights Tonic Sol-fa has established itself not only as the most in-demand vocal group in the Midwest, but also one of the most successful independent acts in America. In addition to substantial album sales of its own inde-pendent releases (2,000,000 copies sold), the group has toured extensively throughout the US and abroad, building their financial base with a steady list of festivals and private shows that eventually led to numerous sold-out tours of theaters and small arenas. Tonic Sol-fa began at St. John's University in Central Minnesota and includes lead vocalist Shaun Johnson, tenor and vocal percussionist, Greg Bannwarth, baritone and percussionist/vocal percussionist, Theo Brown, and bass, Jared Dove. Together the group reached national prominence with appearances on NBC's Today Show and in Newsweek magazine. Along the way, they shared the stage with a number of recognizable performers including Jay Leno, Jeff Foxworthy and Weird Al Yankovic, and were recently inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame alongside Prince. From the group's onset, the members have overseen and operated the business of Tonic Sol-fa with a only a small team of driven supporters acting as managers, lawyers, and publicists, and increased revenue from a few thousand dollars in their first year to a multi-million dollar limited liability company. The group overcame a number of obstacles, including an unspoken apprehension to a cappella acts by individuals in the music industry and having a name that was anything but catchy (a system of naming the notes of the scale, usually do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti, developed to teach singing). Still, the group persevered, recording and manufacturing its own records and selling them to a growing legion of fans via the Internet and social networking sites, in the lobby of the theaters where they performed, and through a growing national distribution. One could say they gained their current consumer popularity the old-fashioned way; they earned it. At present, Tonic Sol-fa is putting the finishing touches on an album of requested originals, a collaborative recording in a catalog of numerous award-winning DVD and CD projects highlighting four indelible voices. This outstanding blend has resulted in multiple Contemporary A cappella Recording Awards, NACA (National Association of Collegiate Activities) Entertainer of the Year nominations, considerable national press, and has landed their music on the best-selling seasonal DVD at Wal-Mart, The 12 Dogs of Christmas. Further Tonic Sol-fa has released three television specials, which have aired over 1800 times in forty-seven states and Canada. The new PBS special will be shown through 2022, continuing to spread Tonic Sol-fa's unique sound to an ever-growing audience. Tonic Sol-fa continues to tour, record, and conscientiously run their business in the only way familiar to them -differently. >> Testimonials “We have had Tonic Sol-fa perform for General Mills several times in front of a variety of audiences. The group is always entertaining, energetic and never fails to elicit positive feedback. Until you have heard them perform, you can’t believe the dynamic sound put forth by four voices. In addition, the group is highly professional and accommodating, and very easy to work with.” –Trade Marketing Director, General Mills “A vocal kaleidoscope…unique to the human voice.” –New York Times “Tonic Sol-fa’s performance is a perfect mix of great vocal arrangements and audience-focused fun. We love working with them!” –Director of Presentations, Minnesota Orchestra / Orchestra Hall “They are a dream to work with from a presenter standpoint. Lively fun show, rave audience reviews and easy to present…I would definitely book Tonic Sol-fa again!” –Historic Holmes Theatre, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota “Tonic Sol-fa was the feature entertainment for the ING National Conference and brought 700 home office and representatives to their feet. In today’s music scene, most people don’t regularly seek out a cappella, so Tonic Sol-fa’s style was a bright and refreshing surprise. The sounds were amazing – you’d swear there were instruments somewhere in the background. These boys are engaging, funny and energetic. Their sound was clean, fun and sometimes even emotional. Tonic Sol-fa sang for an hour, but we would have welcomed them for much longer. They are an excellent choice for anyone’s corporate event!” –Director of Marketing, ING Financial Partners >> Basic Set-Up Needs The technical needs for this artist vary depending on the type of show and presentation space. • Jack Stahlmann | G.L. Berg Entertainment

Jack Stahlmann The Intangible It Jack Stahlmann’s informative and educational presentations are built around his experiences in Los Angeles as an actor, producer, director — and of course, a waiter. In Hollywood, he launched his own production company which created several films that enjoyed international success and was an Assistant Director for the Margaret Cho stand-up show, Cho Revolution. Had roles and appearances in Cold Case, Days of Our Lives, and several commercials. Jack graduated with honors at DePauw University and has been a regular contributor to The Huffington Post. Keynotes: The Upside – The human kindness shared nationwide and even worldwide in recent times of crisis has Jack examining the common thread that creates positivity during hardship. He examines how hard times can bring big things to any organization, if you look in the right place. But simply seeing the silver lining is not enough. In fact, that’s the bad news of a good economy: it encourages observers who simply sit back and watch their money grow. But it is a downturn where the doers find the upside. Vantage Point – Roles can change in an instant. One moment we’re working a ho-hum 9-5er and the next there’s a health crisis and an economic shift and we suddenly have a new role at work or even in the household. For those of us in new positions the road ahead may look daunting. But if you’re in the right role and you’re able to surround yourself with the right team, it just might be the adventure of a lifetime. - Weaves in life lessons - Challenges your team to think outside themselves - Taking a perspective shift to gain new appreciation for decision making at any level in an organization - Keynote has an accompanying book, Days of Our Work Lives. The Intangible “IT” – Jack’s longest standing keynote, The Intangible It, examines the “it” quality movie stars possess that you can’t quite put your finger on… or can you? By sharing humorous and humbling tales of his Tinseltown adventures, Jack breaks down the “it” factor that makes certain actors’ superstars and shares how you can use those lessons to go from a small player to a star in your profession. You will hear about: • The Gift: Learn to channel your inner-Clooney by making everyone you encounter feel like the most important person in the room. • The Shift: Instead of being afraid of change, learn how to make small adjustments to have a long-lasting Tom Hanks-ian career. • The Connect: Discover how you can become more memorable to others by wearing a Dolly Parton tee shirt. Yes, you read that right. The 6 ½ Lessons – In Los Angeles Jack Stahlmann succeeded in acting, producing… and waiting tables. Along the way he learned six-and-a-half valuable lessons that translate to success in any walk of life. Instead of giving your audience a few feel good moments, Jack demonstrates how you can sustain your own inspiration for the long haul in any walk of life: 1) Change 2) Workplace Communication 3) Stress Management 4) Branding 5) Failure 6) Sustained Inspiration >> Career Highlights >> Testimonials Jack has what it takes to create and deliver a presentation that is engaging, educational and most importantly FUN! -City of Saint Paul My branch coordinators were arguing over who was going to get him first to come to their branch and speak. -YMCA Jack brings a unique blend of education and humor. • Kris & The Riverbend Dutchmen | G.L. Berg Entertainment

Kris & The Riverbend Dutchmen Polka Kris and the Riverbend Dutchmen are an upbeat and energetic polka band headquartered near Mankato, Minnesota. Since 2009, the band has blended traditional German, Czech, and Bohemian Polka with a unique style and energy, uncommon in many old time polka bands. The band normally travels as a 5 or 6 piece band that utilizes traditional instrumentation including the concertina, tuba, trumpets, trombones, flugelhorns, drums, saxophones, and the piano. The band has a wide vocal repertoire and plays fox-trots and modern tunes in addition to traditional polkas and waltzes. The band regularly plays for private parties, festivals, fairs, Oktoberfests, corporate events, casinos, and ballrooms across the upper-Midwest. The band has its own high quality sound system and lighting for events and venues that do not employ a production company. The Riverbend Dutchmen take pride in the professionalism of their performances and take the time to understand their client's needs. Performances are tailored to make event a success! >> Career Highlights Kris Keltgen has been performing old-time music since the age of four years old when he made regular appearances with his uncle’s band “Inside Straight” singing “Apples Peaches Pumpkin Pie” at local service clubs. Encouraged by his family, Kris began playing the drums and later took up the piano. Once out of high school, Kris began playing with “Double Shot”, and later the “Plum Krazy” band. At the age of 29, Kris began playing the concertina, an instrument Kris always appreciated and enjoyed. Practicing several hours a day, Kris became proficient at the concertina and formed the Riverbend Dutchmen after playing the concertina for only 2 years. Kris now plays the concertina exclusively in addition to singing with his own band. The Riverbend Dutchmen typically perform as a 5 or 6 piece band, but often perform as a 7 or 8 piece band for larger venues. This at a time when many of the larger bands are disappearing in favor of three or four piece bands. “I’ve always appreciated the versatility of a robust horn section”, says Kris. Other band members include Crystal Malek on drums, Mike Budin on tuba, Rick Keane, Myron Muehlbauer, Jens Jensen, Jerry Kahle, and Steve Moran rounding out the horn section. The late Dick Ginn, former host of the KEYC-TV Bandwagon program also played with the band until succumbing to cancer in April of 2013. “I’ve always been fortunate to have been surrounded by such talented musicians and mentors”, said Kris in a recent newspaper interview. The band’s schedule continues to get busier every year as the band becomes more and more popular. “Old time music is certainly not dead. It is good music and people continue to enjoy themselves”, says Kris while explaining the bands success and growing popularity. The band has been busy in the last couple years with performances that included numerous festivals across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. The band has made multiple appearances at the Minnesota State Fair and Clay County Iowa Fair in addition to many community celebrations and festivals. The band has had numerous nation-wide television appearances on the popular Mollie B Polka Party program on the RFD-TV network, appearances on KEYC-TV’s Bandwagon program, and numerous local broadcasts in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The band released its first album in 2012 entitled: “Smile”, and has just released their second album in 2014 entitled: “Partners, Brothers, and Friends”. In 2014, the band also released a DVD of the band’s performances. In addition to Kris on the concertina, the newest album also features Karl Hartwich and Mollie Busta, host of the popular Mollie B Polka Party on RFD-TV who performed with Kris on the album. Both albums are regularly featured on radio stations with old-time programming across the United States and Canada. >> Testimonials “They are a fabulous band, we are really excited to have them” – Kato Ballroom “The Entertainment Committee would like to extend its thanks and appreciation for your performance.
