  • The Memories | G.L. Berg Entertainment

The Memories Cherished Music & Comedy Celebrating their 50th year in 2022, The Memories have entertained audiences across the country. With their unique harmonies and great songs, this Wisconsin-based duo is made up of Warren Petryk and Tim Stevens. Performing at fairs & festivals, community concerts and corporate events – The Memories continue to deliver a show that has been described as “Music, Laughter, and Wonderful Times.” These guys are true pros. You hear it in their voices and see it with the way they connect with each and every audience they perform for. If you enjoy music and showmanship done right, then you are going to enjoy The Memories. >> Career Highlights As many groups do, The Memories got their start singing and playing music together while in high school choir and band in Boyceville, WI. In the summer of 1972, they were asked to perform for their friend’s wedding dance and 44 years later Warren Petryk and Tim Stevens are still singing and playing music together. Starting out as a very part-time adventure, Warren and Tim, along with classmate and fellow founding member – John Lynch, performed anywhere, and everywhere they could. Village halls, golf courses, high schools, community festivals, wedding dances, night clubs, bowling alleys, street dances, ballrooms, barn dances, supper clubs, ski resorts, and more. There have been many highlights through the years. Among them are: In March of 1975, the group won first place at a regional talent contest held at the Black Steer Supper Club in Eau Claire, WI. From 1976 through 1978, they were the “House Band” at Pine Point Lodge in Menomonie, WI. In 1979, they performed the entire 6-day run of the Northern Wisconsin State Fair, serving as the fair’s Goodwill Ambassadors. Appeared as the opening acts for several nationally known artists. Some of the notable names are: Merle Haggard, Alabama, The Oak Ridge Boys, Ricky Nelson, Ray Price and a very special show with Barbara Mandrell at the 1979 Barron, WI Farm & Feather Fest. In 1983 – they took first place in the Rhinelander Hodag Country Music Fest’s Country Band Contest, and the same year they were first place winners in the Wisconsin Country Music Band Contest sponsored by Wrangler Jeans and Dodge Trucks. Producing over thirty different recordings, which include 45’s, albums, 8-Track tapes, cassette tapes, and CD’s. Receiving special recognition from the Menomonie Area Chamber of Commerce in 1985: “In Appreciation of Dedicated Entertainment and Representation of Our Area to a National Audience.” Induction into the Wisconsin Association of Fairs’ Hall of Fame in 1995. Appearing for 29 consecutive years at the St. Croix County Fair in Glenwood City, WI. Performing annual Christmas concerts at the Mabel Tainter Theater in Menomonie WI for 30 years, and counting. And, the seed that planted the whole entertainment bug: Taking part in the Boyceville Cucumber Festival Talent Contest in 1971 and winning 2nd place and a cash prize of $10! At their peak, “The Boys from Boyceville” were full-time entertainers and traveled from coast to coast on the road over 200 days a year. In 1995, they scaled back to a part-time schedule, and in September of 2000 Tim and Warren began a new phase when they started performing their shows as a duo. Today, they continue the tradition of their trademark – “Music, Laughter and Wonderful Times” by appearing at a select number of events each year. Recent Performances: 2016 Ashley for the Arts Festival (5 Years), Arcadia, WI 2016 St. Croix County Fair (29 years), Glenwood City, WI 2016 Minnesota Street Rod Association’s “Back to the 50’s Weekend”, St. Paul, MN 2016 Dunn County Fair, Menomonie, WI 2016 Pierce County Fair, Ellsworth, WI 2015 Mabel Tainter Theater Christmas Concerts (30years), Menomonie, WI >> Testimonials “Hi Tim. Thank you very much for all the years at the St. Croix County Fair. You and Warren are the greatest! We are looking forward to “The Memories” at our 2013 Fair – Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21.” –St. Croix County Fair “We thoroughly enjoyed your performance Monday night at our annual meeting! We were very pleased with the evening and from the audience of 650 people, we heard many wonderful compliments! Thank you for putting on a quality program and please extend our thanks to Warren also!! We will definitely be interested in having you come back again sometime.” –Eastern Farmers Coop “My wife and I listened to your CD’s on our way back and forth to Pierre last weekend and just loved them. What talent! We’ve had nothing but positive feedback from everyone – you were a hit – but I am guessing you get that kind of feedback all the time.” –Avera Sacred Heart Hospital “Thank You for being a great part of our convention. Feedback was great for you and Warren. The only complaint was that we did not have you both nights. I must admit that the head table got up and left on Saturday night. The act did not have them under control like The Memories did. They had a good show, but not the good variety you have. Thanks again & hope to see you soon.” –Hitterdal Lions Club “I just wanted to send a belated thank you for the wonderful concert you put on for the Lions in Mahnomen, MN last month. I heard you for the first time about 12 years ago at another Lions event and have since heard you at the Phelps Mill Festival. Your music is great (yes, I have all your cd’s, plus a few old cassettes!) – And is good, clean, family oriented fun. Thanks for what you do and not stooping to gutter humor to deliver to your audiences. God bless you!” –Lions Club Member >> Basic Set-Up Needs In order to give you the best performance possible, The Memories provides the following information as a technical rider to their contract: Artist requests: The Memories P. One of our biggest audiences to date." –Bemidji State University >> Basic Set-Up Needs In order to give you the best performance possible, Mind Games provides the following information as technical rider to its contract. An auditorium stage or an extremely STABLE riser (riser being as large as possible) to accommodate 20 chairs in a semicircle. RISER MUST BE FLUSH AGAINST A WALL FOR THE SAFETY OF THE PARTICIPANTS. Purchaser shall also arrange audience seating so that the front row chairs begin approximately six feet from the stage unless show is performed in an auditorium or gymnasium. An EXCELLENT sound system that provides outstanding sound on the STAGE AREA. THIS IS CRITICAL. Audience response drowns out most verbal communication between the hypnotist and the subjects. Please do not assume that the sound system is strong enough to overpower hundreds of people laughing. Volunteers must hear the hypnotist CLEARLY. Thus, SPEAKER MONITORS ON STAGE WHICH FACE THE VOLUNTEERS ARE A MUST. If your auditorium is not fitted for monitor hook-ups, please be inventive. Almost always, a portable system with large speakers placed BEHIND the volunteers (facing the audience) can out power in-house systems. They also double as EXCELLENT monitors. TWO microphones are to be provided (a handheld cordless with a spare battery is great if available) making sure the cords are long enough, able to reach all chairs on stage easily. The second microphone will be used as a back up. However, the XLR or cable to the amplifier will be used as a second input for background music and special effects. Good stage lighting is important. Most auditoriums have acceptable lighting but please ensure the lights are properly aimed (and not burned out) to flood approximately the first 20 feet of the stage area. If the show is located where built-in lighting is not available, any additional lighting to augment the stage area is STRONGLY suggested. This will increase response of volunteers and provide for a much better show. A darkened banquet hall for example with lights on tripods (easily rented) will create a much better "nightclub" atmosphere and make for a better show. >> Sample Introduction The following is a sample introduction you might use when introducing Mind Games to your audience: “The host of tonight’s show – Jared Sherlock – is an award-winning entertainer and certified hypnotherapist who has been featured in The Wallstreet Journal Online, the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom radio show, and Campus Activities Magazine’s “Top Acts” for 2013! He is currently performing at over 100 events a year nationwide and abroad and was most recently named the Minneapolis INDIE Performing Artist of the Year. Tonight he will blend his perfected art of modern stage hypnosis with comedy and friendly audience interaction. Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m proud to introduce your show today — MIND GAMES.” >> Pricing Information Pricing for each act varies depending on a number of factors including: location of the event; popularity of the date; routing for each act; type of event; single or multiple day performances; length of show, etc. To get a specific and accurate quote for your event please contact our office by completing the form below or calling (612) 361-6002. His passion for entertaining was recognized at an early age when he was accepted into Pioneer Valley Performing Arts High School. There he honed his skills as a comedian and juggler, learning from his longtime mentor, vaudevillian Brian Smith. Finding that school was not enough, Alex began performing regionally first through his comedy duo, Juggalicious. This two person comedy juggling show earned him several awards including Best Act at the Majestic Theater Talent Showcase. Alex and Bobby's eclectic mix of Western lasso tricks and juggling stunts brought them to countless area fairs, prominent ski resorts, universities, and private events. After parting ways with Bobby, Alex began work on an even bigger and better show called Project Dynamite. With his new partner Dave, they performed across the globe as one of the nation's best juggling duos. They received numerous awards for their work in colleges and even have a plaque with their name on it. Six years later it was time to take on the ultimate challenge, entertaining the crowd with the same amount of vim and vigor that two men provide, but doing it solo. And as it turns out, the show got even better! When Alex is not on the road he lives and works in Los Angeles, honing his craft at local comedy clubs and working in the entertainment industry. He has worked on such shows as Top Chef and Showbiz Show with David Spade. >> Testimonials "Thank you for bringing your professionalism, positive energy and exceptional talent to the second annual ARTsarben Art Fair...I appreciate you family-friendly, but still edgy, comedy and extraordinary juggling skill that elicited "ooo" and "ahh" from the hundreds of people you gathered for each show. • Sam Richter | G.L. Berg Entertainment

Sam Richter Powerful Outcomes, Amazing Results Considered one of the world's foremost Sales Intelligence and digital reputation experts, award-winning Hall of Fame speaker and bestselling author, Sam Richter, takes something you already know, that Knowledge Is Power, and turns it into reality. It's the "HOW you do it" - using the Web resources you use every day but in ways you never thought possible combined with the secrets of the 'hidden web' - that will truly amaze you (and probably scare you). The National Speakers Association inducted Sam into the National Speaker Hall of Fame, where fewer than 300 professional speakers worldwide have been honored, and Sam also received the Association's CSP Designation, reserved for the top 10 percent of the world's professional speakers. Keynotes: Every Sale YES Begins with a KNOW It’s amazing that in today's information world, the key metric that many organizations still use to judge sales activity is the number of calls made. Sure, you can start at "A" and end with "Z" and mathematically, someone will buy. Or you can leverage Sales Intelligence to locate the right prospects, at the right time, with the right message. In this dynamic program, you will discover... • How to generate opportunities using sales trigger events and powerful introductions, so you're calling on the prospects who most likely need your product or solution, right now. • How to use search engines, social media, and the Invisible Web as powerful sales and competitive "intelligence agents," ensuring you align your value proposition to what prospects care about. • How to leverage information to make a great impression, ensure relevancy, gain permission to ask challenging questions, and provide ongoing value to both prospects and clients. • How information truly is power, allowing you to get past gate keepers, clearly differentiate from the competition, negotiate on value instead of price, and bottom line: win more business. Is Your Business Consultant Some Yahoo Named Google Did you know that on average, each person in your office spends two+ hours each day looking for information? At an opportunity cost of $50 per hour, that's almost $20,000 per year per employee wasted. How valuable would it be if you could cut your searching time in half? How strong could your relationships be if you understand others better? How effective would your plans and strategies be if you had the right information, the first time, every time? In this dynamic presentation, you will discover… • Web search secrets that you never thought possible for finding industry information, company data, market opportunities, and even details about individuals. • How to use search engines in ways that 99% of the planet has no clue how to do - tips and tricks that will even work while searching for emails and files on your computer. • The "Invisible Web" – the 95% of the business Internet not easily found via search engines that holds a wealth of incredible information including free access to expensive subscription databases. • Techniques for using online information to build strong business relationships, have the upper hand in negotiations, generate powerful introductions, and grow your business. Don’t Steal the Cheesecake In today's "everything is online" world, people pass judgement and form opinions about you before ever even meeting. What you post online, text, leave as a voicemail, say or do in front of a public camera, and even email is not limited to private networks. Rather, there's a good chance that what you do in a digital format is public, searchable, and archived, FOREVER! Meaning everything you do online impacts your personal brand, and even your company brand. In "Don't Steal the Cheesecake" you will learn... • The difference between your character, reputation, personal brand, and company brand, how they are all intertwined, and how they impact your career, relationships, and your company. • The dangers of sharing too much information, what can happen if you're not careful, and how to respond in a digital format when you're angry, so you don't become a negative "Viral Sensation." • The "Five Laws of Digital Reputation Management" along with simple, common sense ideas that will align your character and reputation, ensuring consistency across your personal brand. • Inside secrets on how to manage your digital presence (for non-technical people) so when others search for information on you, there is some control on what they find. You Just “Friended” a Thief It's amazing the amount of information available online about companies and people. And it's shocking how vulnerable we all are to Personal Identity Theft and Business Identity Theft - in ways you might not think about. In this jaw-dropping presentation, you will discover… • How to find the information that is available about you, your family, and your business that others have shared in a digital format, and what you can do to protect yourself. • How the seemingly innocent information that you post online could be providing thieves with an open door into your bank account. • How the biggest risk to your and your clients' data is probably not an online hacker, rather, it's most likely sitting in your office right now. • Easy-to-implement, non-technical ways to protect yourself, your family, and your business from identity theft. >> Career Highlights >> Testimonials "You are the best speaker in our organization's history, and your competition is strong….we have had the President, sports stars, and some of the most-well known speakers in the world. Dallas String Quartet exemplifies this.” - Vents Magazine “This track has this impeccable combination of sturdiness in its confident production but this almost free-flowing playfulness to the way they handle their violins like at any moment it could veer off into improvisation, but the group know exactly what they’re doing, leading you on with the (future) nostalgia that comes with the song.” - Vents Magazine “It’s not every day you get such a niche group that has tapped into the ability to make something feel so universal.
