The Fourth Wall puts a vaudevillian twist on classical chamber music with their one-of-a-kind variety show, Fruit Flies Like a Banana. Chopin on hoverboards, Satie performed while hanging upside down, Joplin on plastic boomwhacker tubes, and tangos where the musicians are also the dancers! The audience chooses the order of over 20 pieces specially chosen for each show in this fast-paced hybrid arts experience that’s a fan favorite across North America. Interactive online performances of Fruit Flies Like a Banana: Virtual Style put everyone in a front-row seat, and all are invited to help create a show that leaps off the screen. Few musical ensembles earn top marks for their "deft choreography," (The Wall Street Journal) but this is no ordinary ensemble. Part chamber music group, part theatre company, part modern dance troupe, part circus act, The Fourth Wall blends music, theatre, dance, and acrobatics into a new hybrid art form. This trio of musicians creates new interdisciplinary works and reinterprets classic repertoire to make music that leaps off the stage. Minimum stage space is 20 feet wide x 16 feet deep with 10 feet overhead, allowing for a full-length show with some repertoire adjustments to accommodate reduced stage size. Stage surface must be smooth, flat, and free of protruding objects, obstructive cracks, holes, splinters, etc. Portable platform stages are acceptable, provided assembly is level and sturdy. Marley flooring is not required, but the stage must be appropriate for dance and for objects on wheels, such as a vibraphone and hoverboards. Direct access into the house from the stage is requested, enabling performers to go back and forth from the stage to the house with ease during the show. Wireless headset microphones or overhead chorus miking that covers the stage as deemed necessary by the venue. Amplification is generally unnecessary in theaters under 300 seats. If the venue always uses microphones for speaking from the stage, The Fourth Wall will require either 3 headset microphones with wireless transmitters and receivers (one per performer) or overhead chorus miking of the stage. During the show, all music is performed live on acoustic instruments (flute, bass trombone, percussion, and accordion). Greg Byers String Musician Download Media Kit [object Object] Greg Byers, M.M. uses his talents as a performer, composer, educator and producer to share the wisdom and beauty of great music with a diverse range of audiences. His relationship with music began at 2 1/2, when he first studied cello in the Suzuki method. In 2008 Greg became the first person in the history of University of Miami to graduate Summa Cum Laude with a double major in Instrumental Performance/Studio Music & Jazz on cello and bass. Since then he has performed on BBC Two (Later... with Jools Holland) and Univision (Latin GRAMMYs); he has also been a featured artist/clinician at New Directions Cello Festival, Creative Strings Workshop, and Mark Wood's Rock Orchestra Camp. Belle Amour Vintage Jazz Download Media Kit [object Object] Belle Amour is a fun, high energy jazz group that performs a mix of classic American 20's and 30's jazz standards with a touch of international flair. Belle Amour has the ability to transport the listener to a vintage era that will leave you feeling nostalgic. The band is anchored by the very talented husband and wife duo of Jason and Katie Craft. Belle Amour is capable of providing everything from background music to more interactive shows and even full concerts. >> Career Highlights Jason Craft has toured the world as the music director and pianist for Sheila Raye Charles. He can be found on a regular basis with all of the best local Twin Cities musicians at many of the local music venues. He has played with Jason Marsalis, Slide Hampton, Michael Brecker, Wycleff Jordan, Carl Allen, Jimi Jameson, Fergie Fredrickson, Alex Liegertwood, Eric Gales, and several other notable musicians. Jason can be heard on countless recordings, as his musical talents are frequently called upon for studio work. Thankfully for us, Jason has always been looking for an excuse to learn the accordion. In addition to singing with The Senders, Katie has been singing jazz with local musicians in many different clubs in Minneapolis and St. Paul. She spent six years leading the Dean Weisser Band, a classic rock and blues band, and can now be seen singing with jump blues band Steve Clarke and the Working Stiffs among other jazz groups in the Twin Cities. A year later he won Acme Comedy Company’s 2003 Funniest Person in the Twin Cities contest, going on to open for such stars as Louis C.K., Jim Gaffigan, and Louie Anderson, and is now a respected headliner in his own right.
